THE EARLY SEX RESEARCHERS: THE KINSEY REPORTS - MALE SEXUAL BEHAVIOR

Most males masturbate. Over 90% of Kinsey's sample reported engaging in masturbation at some time during their life. Males from lower educational and socioeconomic levels were more likely to view this activity as perverted or abnormal and reported less masturbatory behavior than those in higher socioeconomic levels. This latter finding illustrates an important conclusion drawn from the totality of the Kinsey data: sexual attitudes and behaviors are often related to educational and socioeconomic factors. Males with less education were much more likely to engage in premarital intercourse than were more well-educated males. That is, about 98% of males with a grade school education had premarital intercourse, whereas about 67% of college-educated males did. Higher educational level males reported being aroused by a greater variety of sexual stimuli and engaged in a greater variety of heterosexual activities (e.g., oral-genital sex) than the less educated males.

Kinsey also pointed out that around 75% of all males ejaculate within two minutes after beginning actual intercourse and that given this high proportion, it made little sense to continue considering such behavior deviant or neurotic.
